Gender-based violence is a widespread omnipresent problem, online, offline, in any institution including higher education and research institutions. The statistics point out this harsh reality – two out of three people have already been affected by it.
The situation is alarming, that is why BELSPO has taken up the code of conduct for zero tolerance for gender-based violence in collaboration with the European Research Area Forum. This Zero Tolerance code includes definition, principles, and a clear approach to combating gender-based violence.
Anyone can sign the GenderSAFE pledge. It is a call to break the silence, tackle the taboo, and take concrete action to create a culture of respect and equality. Our message is simple: sign the pledge as well and show that no one is alone. Let’s work together for research and innovation based on equality, inclusion and respect.
