Project summary
GenderSAFE is committed to supporting European research and higher education institutions in the development and implementation of comprehensive policies to prevent and address gender-based violence. By strengthening institutional capacities, the project aims to foster safe, inclusive, and respectful environments across the academic and research sectors. Its approach includes capacity-building initiatives, mutual learning and exchange, and the creation of tools to monitor and evaluate policies at institutional and national levels. It further promotes the uptake of a zero-tolerance stance towards gender-based violence, reinforcing institutions’ efforts to advance gender equality and ensure a culture of safety and respect.
Funded by the European Union under HORIZON-WIDERA-2023-ERA-01-09 – Policy support to facilitate the implementation of a zero-tolerance approach towards gender-based violence in the ERA, it builds on the research and tools developed in the UniSAFE project. It runs from February 2024 to January 2027.
